Meeting on a regular basis in Bingham House, Markethill this group enjoys activities such as:
- Arm chair aerobics led by a qualified instructor: Physical activity can help improve the emotional and mental wellbeing of older people. It is associated with a reduced risk of developing depressive symptoms and can be effective in treating depression and enhancing mood.
-Capacity building classes: Many older people see getting older as a decline in capacity and increasing disability as the inevitable consequences of ageing. This class open new horizons to them and shows that life can still be full of new opportunities.
- Healthy Living classes: Participants will be shown ways to get good nutrition and maintain a more healthy diet, even under stress. We hope that after a few weeks these techniques will become habits and participants won't even have to think about good nutrition and their bodies and stress levels will feel the difference
