Board of International Fund for Ireland meets with local groups
The International Fund for Ireland has a long association with S.A.V.E.R./N.A.V.E.R., having provided assistance towards the extension of Bingham House and support for the organisation's ongoing work through the Fund's Community Bridges Programme. S.A.V.E.R./N.A.V.E.R. has also benefited from participation in the Fund's AMBIT Programme.
As well as visiting S.A.V.E.R./N.A.V.E.R.'s premises in Markethill, the Board also heard presentations from the Fund's Communities in Transition Programme - The LA Project which includes Lisanally and Alexander housing estates in Armagh; and Dromore in Action, County Down. The Communities in Transition Programme seeks to address deeply rooted social, economic and political problems. The Programme focuses on areas with poor community infastructure which experience ongoing community tension and alienation.
