Healthy Living Classes

Many people experience stress on a daily basis, and much of the stressors are the same for everyone.

Because of the experiences they have been through, victims of the troubles and their families are more susceptible to stress (or more likely to be stressed by something that would more easily roll off someone else's back). However, according to our healthy living tutor, as well as other research, the topics taught in our healthy living classes helps participants deal with these issues. Participants also find information and tools they can use to calm down quickly when they feel overwhelmed, and develop more resilience to whatever stress that comes their way.

This class shows participants why we tend to make poor nutritional choices that can actually increase our stress levels and cause other problems.

Participants are shown ways to get good nutrition and maintain a more healthy diet, even under stress. We hope that after a few weeks these techniques become habits and participants won't even have to think about good nutrition and their bodies and stress levels feel the difference.
